Leads are the names and numbers of prospective customers. Anyone who calls the toll-free number for Jim Feist's Free Football Lock of the Week--and is dumb enough to give up his name and number to the salesman who answers--is now a "lead" to anyone selling football picks. Whether or not Feist can close you (get you to pay), you're on the list of people interested in football betting--the very list Feist sells to OTHER touts, to offshore sports books, etc.

the clients that you serve, would be leads for other catering companies to call for future functions...leads are nothing more than someone that a company can contact that will lead to a sell (hence the word "Leads") they come from everywhere...ever see a "Win a trip of a lifetime!" or "Enter here to win a $1000 shopping spree!" those people that fill out that little card will be getting a call from a salesperson who wants to sell them some timeshare, or cosmetics, or even cars!

Leads are leads, a good salesman can close 25% of those leads, a great salesman can close 40% of them, but a CLOSER will close 80% of them..PERIOD!

On average nobody close 80% of their leads!!! What you talking about?
bubbaj232 (Sunday 30th of November 2008 09:59:15 PM)
I'm talking about a CLOSER, and a good closer can average his closing rate at 80%...I remember I was working in a cemetery one year, and the way we generated leads (well one of the ways) was to contact family and friends of the deceased, believe it or not, this is when most folks start to think about death. My boss would take 10 of these leads, and close 8 of them, on buying something, whether it would be a plot, or memorial or something..he could close them right at 80% of the time.
