anybody who says this sucks is gay. obviously those who oppose of the velvets are stupid. it may be dated, but this is real music. alot of what you like today is based on the velvet underground. and others. but to say this is gay, makes you a fag. this album and everyone of theirs is great. the beatles didn't put out a whole catalog of great music they did. well maybe not the jesus song. HEROIN!!!!!!!
must love lou,

The Beatles were naturally gifted, came up with melodies, rhythms, harmonies, chords to fit their ideas, and played what made sense to them in terms of what they were trying to accomplish. When experts marvel at how a song can contains passages in 4/4, 3/4, 5/4, etc., and "strange" modes like the mixolydian, it's all after the fact. I don't think they were aware of any of this and just went with what felt right.

This is an outrageous arguement. This is like arguing over which 6-string guitar has more strings. Every artist and album mentioned below is above and beyond fantastic.

Hendrix is untouchable. He really felt the music, much more than others.
I always felt like Dylan And Hendrix should've worked together: Bob the lyrics and Jimi the guitar (look at Jimi's covers of Bob). A guy like jimi was just getting started, and he was too harassed by everyone to do what he should have done.
I believe that out of everyone of the 27years death club, Jimi had the most he still had to show us. Because people recognize this his albums are up there with the greats.

Much better written music? Have you ever listened to a Hendrix record? Axis: Bold As Love, or Electric Ladyland are increadible albums that paved the way for artists in the studio and out. He was an excellent song writer, that's why we still talk about him...
And on the topic of Sgt. Pepper the album is ridicules, aside from having some of The Beatles most memorable songs do you have any idea how many recording techniques were invented in the making of this album?
