i know...but the rats brain has a purpose...to be a rat, like you said, and it is controlling the machinery...so, why does it choose to turn one way when it could turn the other...thats what i am trying to say, what is its purpose...like what is it trying to do, i guess nothing ultimately

i highly doubt it "thinks" its anything. because in essence there is really no way of recreating what we call a "concious mind" (may have spelled that wrong) now when human technology advances that far then we can say it "thinks". i would rather not see that day come because then we eliminate human injenuity in a way.

Shmooglavoue, I agree, but, I saw another video like this, it is, actually, the whole brain (well, in another robot, this may be exactly what you said,) which they store in a laboratory.... But, anyone who says this is pointless is retarded. The thought that we, humans, can take living organic matter, from a living creature, (a rat no less, one of the least intellegent creatures on the planet, in some ways,) and make it correspond with a robot, is just.. Amazing.

Do you suppose it thinks like a rat?

Cool to see such a biotechnology advance. Organic brains are far superior to anything man made.
Since people feel it necessary to get all ethical on this, first of all it is not even an entire rat brain. It is a miniscule amount of brain matter that happens to hold the rat's instincts. The organic matter is simply giving wireless commands to the machine, based on the imput the sensors are giving to the neurons. Even if it was a full rat brain, we kill rats en masse anyways.

so no, it has no purpose
Moothyknight4534 (Sunday 30th of November 2008 08:23:13 PM)
it doesnt have a purpose because it isnt natural therefore it is basically an abomination - it goes against the laws of nature. The rat part of it has a natural purpose - to be a rat - but the technology part of it is just technology which serves no purpose in the natural world and only to us humans who have tried to delude ourselves from what's natural with our so called "reality"

this is so weird...but cool, just think, it is technically alive and controlling itself...so it must have a purpose...but what is it?
