What a tragic display of excess the Olympics has become. The cost no longer justifies the need to see who can jump the highest or run the fastest. It's not just China, but every country that pours billions into these wasteful displays.

Automedon2; Call it what you want. These displays are just as much to welcome and accomodate other countries as they are to showcase the host country. Further more its an investment. The return more than makes up for the expenditures. The Olympics are not ONLY about raw athletism. The Games would be dull without some pageantry. Its ok to enjoy life. Lighten up!!
