They say that patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels. Well, dismissing the other person's interest in a meaningful dialog is the last refuge of an idiot. If your premise is correct,the only conservatives qualified to comment on this matter are members of the Reagan Administration and the only liberals qualified to comment are members of the Soviet negotiating team. Historians and journalists tend to be liberal;this shapes their analysis. Same with conservatives, but there are few of them.

jwmellott: If you're going to blanket-dismiss all experts, then you're not interested in a meaningful dialogue. unless you were in the Reagan administration and were present for the negotiations etc, you don't have any special knowledge that historians don't. I suggest you get your info from sources other than Rush Limbaugh and Faux News. youtube posters like jwmelliott are basically a bunch of conservatives whose politics shapes their analysis.

Yeah, sure. Ever heard of the Community Reinvestment Act? Gorby, by the way, ended the Cold War because he realized he would be outspent on the missile shield by Reagan. Speaking of pompous clowns, since when was there an "Office of the President Elect" complete with a seal of the office?

Reagan was a pompous clown whose credit is much worse than he actually deserved. Gorbatchev ended the Cold war, Reagan only brought the foundations of the current financial crisis and strengthened Islamic fundamentalism.

You fail to mention that Christanity was established around 2009 years ago, with it's moral point also established during this time period. As a result, this argument is invalid. The true reason that I believe has caused Muslim extremists, is the fact that some statements in the Koran, can be interperted to share or have a dual meaning, and thus can allow for aggression. Furthermore, the fact that most Muslim or Islamic countries are developing, can also be a source of this extremism.
