Just to clarify, the easiest harmonics to play are @ the 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th frets (those are the easiest for me). Cool standard technique. Don't actually push the string down on the fret, just rest your finger on the string above the fret and then pluck it w/ the right hand. Should kinda sound like a doorbell or something. Also realize that Trey has his guitar in an open tuning, not standard, so it probably won't sound the same when you do it.

any guitar players here know what the name of the technique is that Trey does at 0:52,1:09,and 1:30? im curious if its a standard acoustic technique that i can learn. For another better example search: John Mayer - In Your Atmosphere (Live in LA) john does this in the intro loud with percision

he's playing what are called open string harmonic note's where you verly lightly pluck the string with your finger and that generates that effect
