Son House was the real deal. None of the original blues musicians are left they've just about all died off.

g4pei: Paint yourself to look like a black man, walk a few years in an impoverished black man's shoes while living in the Mississippi Delta in the 30s & 40s during the core of the racial issues in this country. Then, and only then, will you sing and play like that.

Most blues is borrowed from other sources. They used a line here and a phrase there. Even Robert Johnson's songs have bits of other people's songs.
