Some times being president is playing poker and not to reveal your hand. but white lies are different than outright liars like Clinton.

The comment regarding "one thing that Americans..." (1:20) IS A LIE. I was happy when Clinton was in office, however, when this nation allowed a PERJURER to represent it as President of the United States of America I finally understood how scroooooooooood the state of our States is. Then, we allowed Bush, Inc. to confiscate the White House. Americans most certainly WILL and DO tolerate being lied to and Schieffer is playing a dirty game.

Interesting that Schieffer harkens back to Jimmy Carter, truthfully, one of the worst presidents in recent history. Our next president had better not be another Jimmy Carter. Our next president had better be truthful AND a non-appeazer who isn't resigned to defeat.

carter would be viewed as the next washington or lincoln if he came after 43. and as far as recent presidents go - carter was as truthful as they come. whoever is the next prez is loving life. they could sleep for 4 years and get their faces etched in mt. rushmore. that's how the bush has brought the presidency and the country.

dhgmust I agree with you, but every president except maybe the early ones had to lie or hide things at times. With Clinton it wasn't necessary though, Oval Sex in the Oral Office is wrong you are right. Carter was a moral president and he was in the wrong time. he lost because we really did need Reagan, Reagan did lie about star wars, but the result was the soviet collapse and the wall falling down. cont....
