I thought the Democrats were supposed to be so loving of their fellow man. Here is a fact, look it up if you don't believe it. And this guy still holds a seat in the senate.... Byrd joined with other Southern and border state Democrats to filibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1964,personally filibustering the bill for 14 hours

There are racist Democrats, the same way that there are non-racist Republicans. However, the fact holds that there are many more racist Republicans than racist Democrats, which is how the party got that label. Really, saying Democrat/Republican is misleading, considering how there are like 50 denominations for each party. New age democrats, Neocons, etc.

A 5 minute study of who was against the civil rights movement through the ages shows that it was the democrats not the republicans that were the true racists. And don't forget, Senator Byrd, A sitting Dem. was the grand marshal of the KKK up through the late 50's I think it was. Do a bit of research guys, before you pin a racist label on a political party. BTW, I'm not even close to being a Rep. just trying to keep it fair.
