honestly, eclipse is alright. i say that because i can do with or without it in linux, and i can develop everything my own way. just my thought about it...

I actually agree with you, simply because I find it has an ugly UI, takes too long to boot, and I find NetBeans is more responsive and already does all the task Eclipse is supposed to, only faster, and more customizeable.

Yes, it's very slow even on dual-core based laptops, when you are on contracts, specially on big projects. It's creating hundreds of temporary files in project directory, which by people commiting them by mistake. And its completing for you brackets, quotes, even if you don't need them. I'm kind of person when I know what I type on the keyboard, but using Eclipse, it's like Word, which is changing everything which you typed. The only things good are java getters or setters and file patching.
