I said "and so on", I didn't feel the need to mention them as it was more important to point out mainly the Scots and Irish. :)

I cant understand why people still defend the historical accuracy of this film. Its a fantastic film, you dont need to make excuses. Just a glance, a frigging glance at an English or Scottish history book would tell you this. Things like Wallace was actually minor nobility, that the Scots didnt dwell in stone/mud huts, they were actually pretty civilised, Prima Nocte never existed and so on.

The idea of 'Freedom' ment absolutely nothing to the common people of medieval Europe, whether in England or Scotland. Furthermore England and Scotland didnt really exist back then, certainly not as clear cut as is made out. One of the rare moments in this film where it is historically correct is when it shows that Scottish Lords owned lands in England and vice versa. I love this film but the amount of times that Wallace says freedom and how meaningless it is in a medieval context is annoying.

All of you nationalistic morons out there, this is not a story about one particular nation versus another particular nation. This is about the struggle of the human being to live a free and autonomous life and the right of the state, by this extension, to be free and autonomous and answerable only to the will of the individuals within it's sovereign borders.

Most of the story in this film are actually true. But the only "big untrue" thing in this film, that has nothing to do with the story, is the french princess and here part in England. That never happend. There are many small things in the movie that is missing, and things that are put in, but it would not maybe been a good movie if everything was according to the history.
