The production wasn't in my mind when I watched the movie, I just focused on the story and how the film played out. Personally I was disappointed in those two areas. It was only later on that I found out the cost (which was a lot of money back then), that left me dissappointed more so. And your comment on American film, your kind of right. I personally try to avoid the trash the hollywood 'dream facotries' deficate onto our dinner plates expecting us to eat it up like mindless drones.

Spielberg and Lucas may have fallen from grace by now, I agree with on that much with you, but spielberg created jaws and close encounters of the third kind. They were more than mere entertainment, especially Close Encounters. In the 80's I thought that Raiders and ET were a bit childish, but still very good. When the 90's rolled by the the last great film Spielberg made was Schindler's List which was just mere entertainment. Ever since then the industry he helped create fell beneath his knees.

Oh heaven.. a dancescene so full of spectacular joy an beautiful people.. Im amazed an feelin happiness... must see the whole film...

The Dance scene is absolutely crucial to the film, and is an incredibly beautiful scene. For you to find no entertainment value in it says more about you than the film.
