My opinion on Tainted Love is a bit funny.. somehow it sounds a bit like hip hop to me.. not the way he sing or his lyrics but the 1st minute beat of the song. Maybe you think I am strange.. LOL but I really think so...

I think nowadays it is very hard to determine whether a music is "pure" or not.. As music and style become commercialized heavily, artists need to experiment inter-genre: you can not tell if GOTH is forever GOTH, METAL is forever METAL and Rap is Rap Manson, like The Cure or Placebo may be said as Industrial Goth, Punk, etc but bottom line they are Goth. However these bands/artists do needs to experiment cross-genre. Lets be frank most hardcore Goth bands don't earn much money/publicity.

I think,I understand you. His music may be roots from the Goth scene, but every album of him is a completely different genre. POAAF: Punk/Trash-Metal/Industrial ACSS: Industrial / Metal MA: Industrial / Glam-Rock HW: Hardcore/Punk/Industrial TGAOG: Industrial/Hardcore/Goth-Rock Remember the "Tainted love" video in which he drives the black car in the beginning? There was a sign with the letters "Goth thug", so in the TGAOG-era he appears as a goth. But who cares? Manson's music is great!
