I believe it was the 4 egg yolks. It is the only ingredient stated that wasn't "used" in the film.

These are the ingredients for cooking the carbonara for 4 people:
- 400 g of spaghetti;
- 150 g of bacon;
- 30 grams of pecorino romano or Parmiggiano
- 2 whole eggs
- Salt and pepper

nooooo, in carbonara go there or onions, or sake, and even the soy sauce!
