I Just don't understand why this "Blogging" is so popular. I mean it just seems like all it is, is ordinary people stating there opinions and crap that they want to say. I mean it all seems so pointless, really, who doesn't have something to say? Do we care? Why do we think other people want to hear what we think? Kinda like blah, blah, blah to me.

seems simple to me, you need a white board on a table, a camcorder above it that points directly at it, some papers and markers, and a good microphone.

other videos seem to demand more than that, but it's a no brainier that it looks so simple and cool because it is.

No. Just no.
The fact of the matter is journalists are TRAINED to deliver and research "news", and editors are TRAINED to make sure only interesting and non-offensive content gets published. The vast, vast majority of bloggers are not, so it's just becomes a source of pointless, sometimes offensive, misinformed drivel.
I'd go on the BBC to read blogs any day. The reporters give informed opinions. I wouldn't go to Blogger for news though.

the underlying issue there would be that they are 'trained to make sure only...non-offensive content gets published'
i.e. they are trained to censor the news, the news being the knowledge we have about our current surroundings
and that is a bad thing
blogs are vital and wonderful
