There's a different between writing the software that people are asking for and innovating. Microsoft should be honest, they've only really written software when there is a demand, normally that means someone else has established the market. Microsoft is great at business and exploiting other companies weaker decision making. How can media centre be considered innovation? Or HD? These exist already. How can this cost billions of R&D dollars?

If Microsoft is copying ideas from Mac, that means they'll never be ahead of Apple; Apple will always be way ahead of Microsoft, with the latter hardly able to keep up. Vista sucks really bad despite its copied features. It's unreliable, it's too complicated, it's not advanced at all, and it's not compatible with past computers most of the time without sacrificing battery life, memory, processing power, or a combination of those.

Your right, when you copy you need to copy well. If they had copied well, then Vista would have been great. A good plan is to look at what works (Apple's ideas work), and use them in your product. Then innovate over top. Doing this can produce a great product.

Well I don't like to think of companies that way. Companies should bring great things to the table, not just take things from other products and cash in on that. So Vista was a failure, and to me it's because they didn't do a good job on it, and it doesn't bring anything new to the table. I think Linux has done a good job, and its open-source concept is a great idea. I prefer Mac, but I don't dislike Linux. I absolutely dislike Microsoft. Everything they do seems to be several steps behind.

People develop applications for Linux that mimic windows and mac functionality all the time. That is why linux is good, because you can choose the features you want.

Um, they've had right click for years. The Backspace key isn't called backspace, it's called delete. The 'delete' key Microsoft has is not there because it's really useless. Macs have innovated much more than Microsoft has. Microsoft is struggling to keep up.

Agreed. Right click has been there, just hold ctrl click Now with the new macbooks you can assign areas of the track pad for right click! I think people get really confused. Windows is windows and windows have different key commands to Mac and visa versa. Its all in the mac, just different commands to the pc.
