I really hate the upperroom, it is the most terrible ballet ever made!!!!

It is a very nice performance. I like this gentle dance, the lighting.Though I like their dresses,too,I can`t decide if I like the idea with red socks.They stick out too much. Music is putting me to sleep.I like the ending when they disappear in the darkness very much.

Usually I am very anti-Twyla/anti-modern (super classical freak that I am). However, I actually ADORE "In the Upper Room". Although, I DO hate the coustumes. Ah well, you can't have everything...

hi dancie .... thanks for posting upper room on you tube ,,,, i am one of the dancers in this version that you used this is the filming we did for television .... thats why the costumes are white instead of the usaul grey prison stripes ... brought back alot of memeories haven t seen those people that i danced with in many years ,,, thanks daniel

i have seen this live twice and it is absolutely amazing. i'm not sure if other ballet companies do this but american ballet theater has smoke going in the background which really adds a interesting effect.

yes, boston ballet has smoke in the back too and when the dancers come out it looks like they just appear from nowhere. because of the smoke. i love the whole effect.

I saw this live today and it was such shit. Screw Twyla Tharp, that music is supposed to be the sound of something beautiful happening. AND SADLY I SAW NOTHING BEAUTIFUL HAPPENING AT ALL.

someone said that talking about film is like dancing about architecture. i am no ballet fan but i think that's just what this is - dancing about architecture! fantastic.
