I just posted on another board - this film was my introduction to a different style of conveying comedy - one that was also effective and disarmingly funny. Just as you see the little water melon sitting in the sand pit and then it's revealed that it's the lovable "sucker" Fatso! - so funny and then the camera reveals Baldy bigger sucker #2 - not having ANY head protection just painted as a watermelon --- classic! lol!

Four strangers drop everything they're doing to cheer up little Masao - Very moving film, especially the 6:00 to 6:45 sequence.
