Approval Seeking and Low Self Esteem
BackSomeone came to me and cried "I'm not being appreciated whatever I do the boss doesn't like me and puts me down." He was very frustrated about it and I told him the problem was not his boss's problem the problem was his problem. First he suffers from low self esteem and second problem is approval seeking. Approval seeking behavior sets up very bad expectations and you won't be happy at all.

so true. Never thought of it. We aren't pets. Who cares what everyone thinks of us it is always changing.

your words are always very well spoken. The only one who can judge us is our personal higher order.

Im really feeling that message Datta, as i've issues in this area, as you say we are not dogs so we dont need to be petted all the time, we just need to do our best no matter what we might be doing without the thought of what people may say about it. Thanks Datta you tha man!

Approval seeking and self-esteem go together.
Earlier, creolelatte mentioned a full moon video with Datta in water. I didn't see that and would be interested in viewing it. Is that possible?

wonderful advice for me. Thank you, Datta. One of my dogs has great self confidence, calmness, self-directedness and that made him a really good service dog. I could count on him not to get rattled or upset by anything. He accepts pettings, but he doesn't ever ask for them. That's the nature of the chow chow and that's why some people don't like them. Some Chow chows have a mind of their own and a sense of self that is so solid.
