Academic Cluster Computing Initiative

In October 2007, Google announced that it was partnering with IBM to provide largescale cluster computing resources to undergraduate computer science students along with a creative commons licensed curriculum. Using the cluster and curriculum as a starting point, students have been able to develop some compelling projects.

Is there a way to move forward and offer these types of infrastructure/know-how to public institutions? I'm a graduate student at SFSU interested about Data Grid, Grid Computing, but I feel we don't have such availability and organization around a program like yours... Cloud Computing Baby!
