I think you are pretty much right except for the bleeding at the end. It's not blood, there's also yellow and green, it just represents the three lovers coveting her. Those three colors also cover the room when they enter near the end of the video.

I'm going to throw out a guess over here. I believe that the video is about a girl who, although already taken, is trying to find a new lover. She searches for each trait that seems most desirable to women which is wealth, fame, and romance. However, she fails to replace her man whose appearance is established by the letter in the beginning of the video. Even when all three of them try to confront her, she still rejects. When she drops the photo, it bleeds, foreshadowing the death of her lover.

i love this video. it is fabulous. i love their new album, but i must admit, i miss their old sound. you can hear some of it in "its okay" and "hurricane". LOVE THEM!!!
