looks like obama wanted to shake mccain's hand but mccain pointed to his wife's hand, and so obama shook his wife's hand... is it not simple enough? watch it again.

Are you kidding? Obama went for McCain's hand, McCain backed away and pointed towards Cindy's hand. McCain then turned to the crowd before Obama was done shaking her hand. McCain put himself in the position where it would have been awkward for one of the candidates to make the move to shake the other's hand crossing personal space.

Just felt the need to show off on TV since he didn't get nearly as much shine as Obama, since he's "The biggest celebrity in the world"
