When I spun my 78's, 45's and Long Playing records, as a kid in the 50's and 60's, I never thought there'd come a day that someone would say 'if you have a record player to play them on'. I never dreamed, even so much as imagined the CD or the DVD Player. That's the beauty of being almost 65 . . . I've seen so much progress since I was born. (I'm still getting over fax machines - ha ha!) Carly

WOW. Ronnie Gilbert was beautiful ! and she still is, and her voice is just a great. She's still singing, and still being a voice of the people. She has had a remarkable life. Yea, I know Pete Seeger is a remarkable man and a great folk singer, but Ronnie Gilbert is amazing ! I am grateful I've seen her perform many times.

I remember my mom affectionately referring to Pete Seeger as "Pinkie Pete" :) He is a legendary musician and polticallyt, disavowed Stalinism.

I have this on a Columbia 78 record! It's so neat to hear this on the original records if you have a player to play them on. I have a 1947 Zenith Cobra record player that this record sounds GREAT on! Thanks for posting!

i hate this song its just old and crampy i had to learn it and have a test on it by my music teacher got 8 and a half out of 10

that's funny, megs314. A horrid school experience can really ruin a good song, and no reason you have to like the song (this listener did not comment on the singers by the way). Hey folks, don't hate on this person - it's just what a bad school can do! I have my own awful memories...
