This is one of the most profound contributions to modern philosophy. Actually an Iranian philosopher said almost the same thing centuries ago, but not the same. But I think that Rumsfeld missed one thing that would have made his statement even stronger, it was Zizek who pointed this out, the unkown knowns, the things we don't know that we know! If the Republicans would have focused on that they would suceed!

Actually if you think about it, Rummy is speaking in the highest tones of Mystical Poetry. In the 1970s, Donald Rumsfeld founded a research group called Team B headed by Dr. Richard Pipes, which investigated Soviet arms capacity. Team B concluded that "Just because it does not exist, does not mean it isn't there." Soviet weapons are so sophisticated they're undetectable e.g. the non-acoustic submarine detector. This was all rubbish of course. These super-weapons are the Unknown Unknowns. Rumsfled used the flawed 70s report as guide to Iraq's WMDs. It was all self-delusion.

I agree and that sonofabitch has not changed one bit. This is the man that George Bush Sr. and his administration would not associate with because he was too crazy for even them. Now that people are too young to know Rumsfeld, he comes right back out to continue his genocidal ambitions. How many times is this man on film lying? That would be an interesting vid if someone compliled all this mans publicly recorded lies. Unknown unknowns ... Military intelligence needs to channge its name.

You might want to look into Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Neuro-Hypnotic Repatterning.. this is textbook ,... kind of like an induction.. but very effective, see how people just "laugh" it off.. it's like he's a damn pimp.. talkin' lots of spit that doesn't mean anything.
