The RLS: Arm Break from Spider Web
BackThe RLS (restless leg syndrome) is very much like the 'slide' arm break from the spider web position but uses the leg to shake down your opponent instead.

Just a couple of questions (I'm not that experienced so bear with me):
Why do you weave your hand through their legs?
Wouldnt it be easier to go for an arm scissor instead of this?

control of the leg takes alot of power from their buck. you're taking alot of their mobility away by doing so and keeping it in tight.
As for the arm scissor, I don't know.

Would the buck really mess with the armbar tho?
I'd just go wrist to wrist with the arm I was trying to lock and pull back and that usually works.

Funny you ask 'cuz I was just thinking about this yesterday. I have found myself doing the same thing when I'm in Spider Web. I started out grabbing the near leg, as usual, but one thing that would happen with people who had experienced it before is that they would straighten that leg and drop it to the ground, breaking my underhook and freeing their leg. But, now that I reach through and grab palm down on their opposite leg, it prevents that. In a sense, they are pushing against their own leg.

stops them coming up to their knees and then stacking you.

I mean if the arm crush fails, or if I'm just having a hard time setting it up(i.e. they know its comming and making it difficult), I'll fall back to the RLS.
