Amityville Horror - In Search Of... - 1 of 3
BackA 1979 investigation into the Amityville Horror, done around the time the movie was released and before the talk of a possible hoax really started to gain popularity. This program is notable because it contains the only known on-camera interview by the priest who blessed the house (and who confirms his experiences in the house, despite what the Cromartys claimed in the later episode of "That's Incredible"). Also notable for containing rare glimpses of the Lutzes with their real children, filmed by the "In Search Of" crew. Discuss this case at www.amityvillefaq.com/truthboard/

One question I've always had is this...
IF the Lutzes lied about all that happened to them & hoped to make big bucks... why then did they leave behind everything they owned?
To my knowledge, they never DID reclaim their belongings.
They had no real promise that the book would do well or even that there would eventually be a movie made about their experiences.
I personally would not leave behind all that I own, just on the idea that I might make some money from a book.

Exactly!
Some might say, "Oh, they just gave up their house & belongings to make the story look good," but its insane to risk all that money on a speculative book venture. They would have had to be utter morons to risk all that.
And yet, if it WAS a hoax, it surely must have been done by GENIUS con artists - just based on the fact that over the past 30+ years no one has come up with a smoking gun proving a hoax was committed!

I've always known in my heart that something unnatural went on in that house. I've studied into it, tried to keep an open yet equally skeptical mind and STILL have not yet found one ounce of evidence that the Lutzes lied about their experience.
Plus, I've had "strange" things happen to me as well. And if I told anyone, I know they wouldnt believe me. But, I wouldnt lie about something like that.
Theres no sense in it.
I believe the Lutzes and I always will.
Good Video~

Ah. So by calling yourself "braino" you are being sarcastic. Good one...

Wow. Just...fucking wow. I'm ashamed of what has happened to my beloved Republican party.

I'm not really a republican. They've pretty much up and screwed themselves (and us) too sadly. Although, I'm a little ashamed of them too.

The hauntings was all a hoax by Gorge and Kathy Lutz but, the murders where true that happened with the previous owner before the Lutz's moved in.
FriendshipTown (Wednesday 12th of November 2008 08:54:29 PM)
How do you know the haunting was a hoax?
FriendshipTown (Thursday 13th of November 2008 06:27:50 PM)
Okay Ghostrider, you sent me an email saying that you know its a hoax because a website claimed as much. You then quoted a paragraph from that site which you think shows the Lutzes admitted in court that it was all a hoax.
You are obviously misreading that site. It is saying that the CROMARTYS were saying the haunting was a hoax, not the LUTZES!
Think about it - if the Lutzes admitted it was a hoax in court, it would be game-over. You could show me the transcript and that would be that...
