It also sounds awesome without the voice effects that they used on the CD. The screaming/singing really adds to it.

its a kind of modulation and pitch shifting at the same time. most likely caused by like four pedals he'd be using his fender blender which is a weird decaying pitch shifter and distortion box, also some kind of harmonist pedal (that kinda 2-sounding guitar effect it adds another signal while you play e.g. +1 octave or -1octave). i dunno how much you want to know hey but thats most likely the basics he doesnt have delay on but probs reverb

What dude... you harmonizers... they don't add octaves... those are just called octave boxes... harmonizers add exact intervals over the notes you're playing... so like a common one is a major or minor 3rd or a fifth... for a cool sound.
