Well, it does nothing for the animals other than make them feel uncomfortable. It's obviously not like kicking or stabbing the dogs, but it's a purely selfish thing on part of the people that did this to the dogs.

It's selfish. It's not done for the good of the animals. It's done because someone wanted to see them like that. And it's not abuse in any sort of horrible way.
