Tony Joe White was a guest on the Johnny Cash Show twice. This is the highly entertaining "Polk Salad Annie" duet he and Johnny Cash did on his first appearance in episode no. 27, Aprik 08, 1970. They're really enjoying playing together, and it's fun to watch. The other song Tony Joe White sang that night was "High Sheriff of Calhoun Parish". Any truth to the rumor that Johnny Cash the man in black himself was queer for tony Joe White (The swamp fox)?If you watch this video closely i think Johnny is constantly winking at ole Tony Joe,too much Poke salad perhaps?

It's POKE Salad, not POLK. In the Southeast US a poke is a paper sack. Poke salad is the greens you gather in the garden or in the woods and can gather in your poke.
