Isn't it enough that Judo is the superior stand-up style? (WITH GI of course. In a no-gi submission grappling match BJJ is generally superior due to the fact that we train both gi and no-gi).

623judoka, you say that if anything Judo has WAAAAAY more submissions than BJJ! Dude, doesn't Judo drug test 'cuz you're obviously HIGH! BJJ includes in it's submission arsenal Knee bars, straight ankle locks, heel hooks, toe holds, neck cranks, spine cranks, and even some wrist locks. ALL of these techniques are illegal in Judo.

i dont care where judo and jiu/jitsu came from wat mathers is today! judo and bjj-jiu/jitsu are two great sportsn both simular but different at the same time they just focus a bit on other areas. i prefer bjj because the groud element is more but to do some nice power house and technicall judo always fun ...i as a smaller guy (5,11.. 155) have a bit more trouble with bigger opponets in judo then in bjj but just both really nice sports

This video shows the standard of those "black" belts and the standard of the refs at this comp was SHIT.

I'm sorry friend, You are wrong... JuJitsu is the earlier japanese art form, Jiu-Jitsu is basically the Gracie creation.

right, but if the 6'2 250lb guy was just as technically proficient, he would have destroyed the smaller man...that's what "all things being equal," means.
623judoka (Thursday 13th of November 2008 11:41:18 PM)
that guy was technically proficient, he was a champion sumo wrestler and challenged the judoka. judo's technique is just different

ok, ill skool you some more. jiu jitsu and Jujitsu are completely different, no shit they dont call it bjj in brazil. its like in america we have wrestling, in japan they call it either folkstyle wrestling or american wrestling, and in america nobody calls it american wrestling. and bjj came from judo, and judo came from Jujitsu. look up the spelling cuz you dont know what the fuck youre talking about

OK what ever. A moron always stay like a moron 1ike you. JiuJitsu and Bjj are the same but if you like to say im wrong you won. Good for you. Go practice some where else not the states...

thats right jiu jitsu and bjj are the same, like i told you. theres a reason they call it JAPANESE JuJitsu, because its not the same as BRAZILIAN Jiu Jitsu! so it looks like you finally learned about this shit you claim to have already known about
