Ciceley Tsyon. Diana Ross. Dorothy Dandridge. Angela Bassett. Lena Horn. Whoopi Goldberg
Gorgeous Black Women who gave heart wrenching BRILLIANT performances and were denied their moment time and time again no matter how far above the competition they rose.
In 2001, Halle Berry's Oscar win signified the end of an era. That anyone, from anywhere, any colour, could rise to the top. And for that, I wept like a baby, because it means...
for all of us everywhere, we can really do anything.

She was really crying her heart out. You can tell she was really moved. She couldn't have been acting because she can't act that well. Her statements honoring women of color were beautiful--plus she looked lovely. Good job, Halle.

I'm all for historic moments, but the acceptance speech was better than the movie. Angela Basset turned down the role and for good reason. I respect Angela more for rejecting this role than I respect Halle's oscar win. Basset may not have an Oscar, but she definitely has more class and dignity than Halle Berry. Congratulations, Ms. Berry and thanks for.....history?

I'm not a black , not white either , but I jus wanna say that lots of black actors and actresses deserved the oscar. They didn't win only b'cuz of their skin. Also there are some lucky people who won it only b'cuz of thier religion . This thing is known over the world that oscar is not fair at all and we already know the reason. From Saudi Arabia
