Blender Siggraph 2006 demoreel

Back

-- extract from www.blendernation.com -- It's that time of the year again! Just before Siggraph we publish a compilation of the greatest Blender work to show the rest of the world what we've been up to and what Blender is capable of. This year, Ton asked Bart to use only animations for the compilation. It made Bart's life a bit easier (less edits to make), but it is also a bit disappointing that so many great stills did not get included. More on this on www.blendernation.com In the video you'll find some samples of Blender character animation, architectural visualisation, commercials, technical demos, realtime content. Like last year the music was composed for the video by Jan Morgenstern. Jan also created the music and sound effects for last year's Siggraph Demoreel. It was a pleasure to work with you again, Jan! Congratulations to everyone whose work was selected, good luck watching, and enjoy the show!

I just read the article on the inclusion of coloured shadows, that was the tipping of balance for em to turn to Blender from XSI and Carrara. Thus far it's a learning curve but it's more useful than anything I have used thus far and well in my personal budget (free is always good especially if this this powerful)

Yes, i have been working in a company on 3DS studio max in the early 2000. I don't work anymore there. Somewhen in 2005 they have switched to Blender... FOR VISUAL EFFECTS!!! One of the bosses is an engineer, i guess it's easy for them to customize all the software

Thats possible. Some companies can use Blender, to cut down the budget, and still got the professional results. (Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Denmark)
