You won't believe, but something similar happened to me when I was a kid. We visited a friend who found an abandoned deer and raised it on his farm. The deer was totally domesticated and not aggressive, and I was told I could enter its enclosure and pet it. However as soon as I entered the barn where they kept the deer for the night, it got spooked, it raised both front legs in the air and started to kick me with the front legs. Apparently the deer didn't want strangers inside that barn.
