really? That's a strange choice of film for school. I would have slept thru it too. Wait another 10 years and then watch again. :)

Saying softly, you screwed up. Be sure to watch it soon, it's masterpiece, it's simply elite film.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I would like to compare it with CASABLANCA. The two best romantic love stories in cinema.

sorry, my reply is above you ^^^
Here are the lyrics, in partI'll be down to get you in a taxi honey
Better be ready 'bout half past eight
I mean don't be late
Be there when the band starts playin'
Remember when you get there honey
Dance all over the floor
Dance all over my shoes
When the band plays the Jelly Roll blues
Set 'em all alight
At the darktown strutters ball

It's called "The Darktown Strutter's Ball", an old jazz standard that was popular in the 20s and 30s. It's the same song that Katherine sings teasingly to Almasy earlier in the film when they're travelling in the car together, in the desert.
Almasy "sings all the time" and indeed throughout the film you can hear him singing snippets of popular songs of the time. (Indeed, music from that era was great!) Another of the many, many lovingly crafted details that makes this film so wonderful.
