I agree with the fact the God does care about you and that you should care about him in return but that wasn't the way to say it. I really dont wanna push anything on you, but how much do you really know about Jesus? I used to think kinda the same way, that no one cared, and i was suicidal and tons of stuff but eventually went to an outing with my friend and come to find out it was a church thing. I started to actually learn a little bit about him and how much he really does love us. Jesus went through one of the most horrible deaths imaginable for you and for everyone on this earth, believe it or not. its your choice
