well i think he said something like "for personal reasons" but there were rumors that -he was in a cult -his wife forced him to do it and stuff like that.. idk but i dont think that he was in a clut or something

yeah i thought about that many times, i dont know if you know it but yoshiki already wanted a reunion before hide died, with the death of hide his dream was gone & he felt veeeery bad because X was his everything you know, his masterpiece well but i think hide watches over the new X now

In my opinion, what they meant was lonely and not alone... Because Bowie's success story made lots of people want to become famous too, but one of the thing that you get when you're famous is loneliness. I think that what this song really talks about is disillusion, hence the bitter tone of the lyrics.
