To those who complain that it REALLY didn't make much of a difference, think again. IT DID. It may not be obvious or made a big difference like what people expected it to be, but it did make a difference don't deny it. The use of wattage in energy decreased dramatically that night, they even showed the graph on the news the next day, it was succesful for a 'premiere'. Watching Toronto's landmarks alone shut their lights off is an accomplishment already

IRONIC how all the people who turned off their lights and lit candles instead wouldve done more damage to our earth...

Think Again, light bulb = 60w, one candle flare = 0.02w, and nobody light up that many candles for a 2min break.

More like you think again!
I know that candles have little wattage (because its less bright) then why dont we use candles instead of light bulbs??
OBVIOUSLY using light bulbs are brighter and are cheaper and better for the environment than using candles!!Its not the wattage that counts!
Think about all the watts of energy used to make that candle, all the water, resources
compared to just keeping your light bulb running.

well we didn't use light bulb to reduce environmental damage, but it is cheaper and brighter. However it is worse for environment than candle. For ur line of thought, think again how most of the electricity are produced, natural gas burning are way more destructive than making candles, in fact, candle wax are a by-product of fuel making.
